2017 The Thief? Grenache Shiraz Mataro
Aged in large oak barrels for 18 months. Dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Elevated spicy dark raspberry, ripe cherry and liquorice allsort aromas mix with earth and subtle dried herb notes. Juicy, plump and fleshy, the palate sports ripe dark raspberry and dark cherry fruits over some liquorice, earth and spice nuances. Silky smooth tannins with a very supple feel. Good depth with a sumptuous conclusion.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 14%
Other Reviews…..
Bright colour; this is the modern face of GSM, with good natural acidity that gives the flavours a brightness and freshness that is often compromised at higher levels. There are red fruits (pomegranate), purple and blue all to be found. Good to go tonight, or in 5 years' time. Drink by 2025.
