Frerejean Freres Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Champagne

A 100% Chardonnay Cuvee sourced from the Premier Cru district of Côte des Blancs. Pours with a generous frothy white mousse that shows good hold. A pale straw coloured base wine with pale gold edges is threaded by a steady stream of very fine, tiny bubbles. Rich aromatics of baked bread, yeast lees and brioche fill the nostrils followed by traces of citrus and oily toast characters. Very rich and full in the mouth with an almost creamy like textural feel, flavours of yeasty baked bread and oily toast like characters fill the palate over traces of roasted almond with a refreshing crisp, citrus infused finish. Excellent concentration and length with a long aftertaste of yeast lees, baked bread, oily toast like characters, faint almond and citrus.
