Bruichladdich Octomore 08.1 Masterclass Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Distilled in 2008 using 100% Scottish barley from the 2007 harvest with maturation taking place in first fill American oak casks sourced from Buffalo Trace, Clermont Springs, Four Roses, Heaven Hill & Jack Daniels. As usual, non chill filtered and peated to the extreme (167 ppm).

Other reviews… It spent 8 years in first-fill American oak casks. Peaches dipped in hot plain chocolate and tarry peat on the fragrant nose. The palate offers sweet, creamy orchard fruits and honey, backed by citrus-laden peat. Drying in the finish to quite a bitter, tannic smokiness.
