2010 Domaine A Cabernet Sauvignon
A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot matured in new French barriques for 30 months. Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep dark red black hue. Elevated ripe blackcurrant and mulberry scents intermingle with vanillin cedar, earth, tobacco, dried herb, black olive and subtle spicy leather notes. Rich blackcurrant fruit prevails over a back drop of scorched earth, vanillin cedar, tobacco, spicy dried herbs, black olives and leather. Dryish finish with dusty tannins imparting some structural grip onto the medium to long aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 14%
Other Reviews….
Includes 4% each of cabernet franc and merlot, and 2% petit verdot, matured in French barriques for 30 months, not fined or filtered. This has by far the best balanced cabernet fruit expression, and fine tannins. Above all else, it is ripe. Drink by 2035.
