2018 Quercia Al Poggio Chianti Classico

Very dark red core with black tinged edges with a rusty red shaded hue. Spicy red currant and rose petal aromas sail out of the glass trailed by earth, tobacco and hints of leather. Medium bodied the palate serves up red currant fruits over earthy leather characteristics. Finishes dry and spicy with stern, grippy tannins leading into a rustic earthy leather and tobacco aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

Cherries and fresh tomatoes with clove and toasty wood notes. Layers of red fruit, chocolate and caramel on the palate. It’s medium-bodied with sleek tannins. Wait for the oak to integrate. Nice purity of sangiovese here. Try after 2022.
