Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of dark plum, liquorice and dark cherry are followed by some vanillin cedar notes, fennel and pepper. Rich and juicy dark plum and liquorice flavours drive the medium to full bodied palate with smoky vanillin cedar, earthy fennel and blackpepper characters lying underneath. Smooth yet sturdy tannin structure concluding long, ripe and polished.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews…..
Fermented as 95% whole bunches, matured 12 months in older French oak. Immediately makes its presence known with lifted florals in violet and lilac with plummy, smooth black fruits, plums, earth and spice. A gentle added savouriness across the palate brings that little bit extra. Easy going young red that delivers Heathcote generosity and then some for the pricepoint. Drink by 2027.

From Simon Osicka and co, he who writes exceptional emails of detail and colour. I love reading them. Takes me forever to build up speed to write back with the appropriate depth. And some family recipes for Eastern European fare. Thank you, Simon.
Lusty, lush red of smoked meat, raspberry, mulberry and white pepper/sage leaf spice/herbal influence. It’s soft and satiny, plush and yet fresh feeling despite ripeness of fruit and associated sweet spice seasoning. All in all though the wine lifts and curls into prettiness and dry-ish feel in a great way, even with the smoked paprika (yes!) finish. Charming stuff here. Drink 2022-2027.
