WHA's fourth release from Barton Distillery comes after their first trip to Kentucky in over two years (thanks to covid). As always, the VIP group favoured a big and bold 1792, but found it hard going doing barrel selections in a freezing rickhouse. They ended up taking samples indoors to let them open up at room temperature. We recommend you do the same! Barrel #8467 is another solid and well-poised full-proof release, with interesting hints of liquorice bullets refreshing and threading through the corn oils and fresh oaky notes. No shortage of peppers add a warming kick to the creamy finish which has light vanilla and caramel in tow. Drawn from rick 6, floor 7 and aged just one month shy of eight years, it leans towards the drier, spicier side of Bourbon. 174 bottles have landed. 62.5% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
