A very old Maca' 18 bottled under screw cap. The fill level is as good as the day it was bottled back in 1985. Fabulous colour. Overall excellent condition. 43% Alc./Vol.

For many whisky lovers, Macallan's annual 18 year old releases were considered as good as whisky gets. However, post 1984 distillations saw changes to some of the key production methods that had built the distillery's reputation as the 'Grand Cru' of Speyside. As Macallan found itself struggling to keep up with demand, Golden Promise barley no longer made up 100% of the grain bill and the quality of sherry casks was on the decline. No surprise that antique Macallans of this era promise something unique in the world of whisky. One only to sell.
