The 41-year-old 'Pride' is the oldest whisky Glenmorangie have bottled to date. Filled into ex-Bourbon and ex-oloroso Sherry butts on 30 October 1974, before being bottled in 2016 at 52% abv, just 503 exquisite crystal decanters have been released globally. We have one only to sell.

“When I tasted the stock, it was clear to me that the whisky had reached a sublime level of completeness,” said Dr Bill Lumsden, director of whisky creation at Glenmorangie.

"The parcel matured in ex-bourbon casks displayed a wonderfully surprising finesse." he adds. "Many of Glenmorangie’s signature flavours such as citrus fruit and honey were present, but in some respects it was as if they had been baked together, for deeper, more intense flavours. Meanwhile, the parcel matured in Oloroso casks had an astonishing power, with many, many of those classic sherry-cask notes, such as toffee, dates, chocolate and myriad spices."

"The result is an exquisite blend of deep, rich, salty and spicy aromas – aged balsamic vinegar, salted caramel toffee and oranges, leading to tastes of baked apples, toffee, oranges and brown sugar."

In the creation of the remarkable packaging for this release, glassware specialist Laurence Brabant was recruited to design the decanter, which is engraved with gold metallic detailing and contained in a lacquered cherrywood veneer box with a mirrored interior. An extraordinary addition to any collection.
