Another consistently 'Top Class' malt according to Adelphi's Charles McLean, Benrinnes is a famously big, robust Speyside, not completely dominated by 'sherrywood' maturation, though not commonly found in first-fill butts. This one's an exception, having been entirely matured in one refill sherry cask. Adelphi's past Benrinnes selections have showcased the distillery's oft cited "meatiness" alongside notes of rich red fruits and toffee. Distilled in 1984 and bottled in 2018 with an outturn of 395 bottles. Non chill filtered, cask strength, all-natural whisky. 57.3% Alc./Vol.

Since 1966, six stills have been run at Benrinnes in two pairs of three. From 1974 on, a form of partial triple distillation was employed to help promote a "meaty/sulphury" character. The first official bottling was under Diageo's Flora & Fauna label in 1997. However, due to demand from blenders, Benrinnes has never become a 'mainstream' brand.
