The pedigree is impeccable. The age / value ratios are extraordinary. We encountered the Mackillop's Choice range upon Lorne Mackillop's visit to Australia in 2008, a man among the rare number of 'Masters of Wine', he showcased his wares, discussing his ethos for selection. Not unlike other independent bottlers of note, he searches for unique characteristics not found in distillery bottlings. Approximately 80% of the cask samples tasted are rejected. To further emphasise the singularity of his selections, these whiskies are bottled as single casks at cask strength. In short, unique expressions that cannot be repeated.

In 2008, his whiskies made a more than favourable impression despite the fact that some of the bottles presented had been open for over a year. More recently we learnt that the very same whiskies are now sitting in the supplier's warehouse and selling for a song.

THE DALMORE IS 24 YEARS OLD. THE HIGHLAND PARK 29.
Add cask strength to the equation and to anyone who knows what equivalent distillery bottlings are reaching ($600+++) it will be patently clear how outrageous this deal is.

What is the justification for such incredible discounts, with a dearth of top notch, super-aged malts currently threatening most Scotch whisky distilleries? It's no exaggeration to suggest that they would be buying these back (if they could get them at these prices in the UK) and pouring them into barrels to capitalise on current industry forecasts.

We didn't ask questions.
Just take advantage of what's essentially a blip in an otherwise ever-rising market.
Very limited stocks. First in first served.
