1988 Gordon & Macphail Speymalt from Macallan Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Here's a classic Macallan from G&M, distilled in 1988 and all matured in refill Sherry hogsheads. Released in 2016, we've been allocated just one bottle.

Notes from Gordon & Macphail... Aroma: Sweet Sherry aromas with raisin, prune, and stewed pear are complemented by demerara sugar. A touch of chocolate mingles with zesty orange peel notes. Taste: Peppery initially followed by stewed apple, orange, and cinnamon flavours. Charred oak mingles with a salted liquorice finish. Aroma with Water: Sweet and mellow with pear, strawberry, and candied peel aromas. Subtle hay notes mingle with a fresh lime citrus edge. Taste with Water: Sweet with raisin, red apple, and banana flavours are followed by hints of cinnamon and mature oak. Body: Medium to full. Finish: Long with lingering charred oak notes. 43% Alc./Vol.
