Bladnoch is Scotland’s most southerly distillery, nestled on the green banks of the River Bladnoch, from which it takes its name. Located in this beautifully remote area, the distillery has been producing since 1817. It employs mainly unpeated malt from independent maltsters, though very occasionally will use medium peated malt (18ppm phenols), usually once a year.

This independent bottling was drawn from an x Bourbon cask that yielded 195 bottles.

Tasting note: Bright gold. A brief flash of butter menthol lozenge settles into drier styled aromas of autumn leaves, light cedary oak and dried pear. Comes across more youthful than the stated age with delicious sweet fruity / biscuity malt, toasty oak, hints of marshmallow and a gently nippy spirit. Finish is breezy, mildly bittersweet. Dried grass, pepper and subtle clove aftertaste. Deceptively long. 55.3% Alc.Vol.
