1990 Stanton & Killeen Vintage Port
This is a wine for the future - for when that moment eventuallyarrives, say 2010, what ever you do, don't drink the lot in onego. Drinking a bottle of Vintage Port in one sitting is apractice that belongs to the three bottle club of the 18thCentury and is where it should remain! Produced from shirazgrapes planted in 1921, grown on Jack's Block this wine hasalready won 2 Trophies, 5 Golds and 4 Silvers. Deep brick redcolour. The nose is restrained and will blossom with time -working it up, reveals delightful marzipan, almond, ripe plumsand spicy raisins. The palate is concentrated, with rich raisinplum fruit flavours superbly balanced with beautiful brandyspirit and firm tannin grip. The spirit provides the backboneand lasts well into the aftertaste - its mouthfilling warmsensation is well juxtaposed to the marzipan notes. Amagnificent port - just be patient!\Z
