1995 Carpineto Dojajolo Vino da Tavola di Toscana

Made from Sangiovese grapes and described as a "Super Tuscan", this is indeed a delightful flavour filled Italian red. Aged for only a short time in oak, this wine is drinking very well at the moment.Medium weight, crimson red colour. The nose is very attractive with aromas of ripe prunes, old leather and floral spice. On the palate the fruit comes through, without the usual austerity associated with Italian reds. Ripe plum and blackpeppers dominate, with the taste of old leather lingering in the background. Fine tannin structure, with long aftertaste. Cellar 3 - 5 years.
