Spirits Shop Selection is an independent bottling company founded by Eric Huang, one of the foremost whisky experts in Asia. Eric is the only Asian judge to participate in the WWA (World Whisky Awards), and is also the chairman of the Taiwan and Hong Kong Single Malt Whisky Association (SMWS). Special artworks by renowned artists are used to adorn each release reflecting their distinctive taste and character. In this example, the front label depicts Tosa Mitsuoki's 'Phoenix and Peacock'. He's part of the "Tosa school", well known for rendering precise and elegant depictions of flowers and birds. It compliments this single cask Glenrothes that was matured in a sherry butt. Historically, some of these releases have been reserved for friends or close customers. Some are currently found only through auction sites. Cask #19 was emptied in 2017 yielding 570 bottles at 48.3% Alc./Vol. Very limited stocks.

Notes from the bottlers... Nose: There's a fruit store next to the florist's shop. The white flowers (Edelweiss) begin to bloom and greet everyone passing by. The pears and peaches next door seems getting ripe. You bought some apple home to make apple pie with cloves. Taste: It's a sunny day with clouds up high and birds twitter. The feeling is light and silky as everything goes so smooth. Treat yourself a cup of green tea with honey dessert in the afternoon. Lay back and enjoy the prescious moment with citrusy essential oils. Finish: Medium length with sweetnenss of cloves and honey. Someone adds the orange peel into the essential oils. Smells like heaven.
