1997 Adelphi Royal Brackla 16 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Reopened in 1991 after a chequered history and presently operated by John Dewar & Sons Ltd for Bacardi, Adelphi's Royal Brackla bottling is an opportunity to secure a top notch expression from this otherwise dark horse distillery.

Distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2014. One of only 268 bottles produced.

Tasting note: Very pale straw/gold tinge shows flawless purity. Almost floral with pristine scents of apple pie and stewed pear. Cereals, vanilla and dilute honey enter in the later stages. Terrific texture and balance; flavours of beeswax and vanilla cream combine with hints of stewed fruits. Beeswax again in the aftertaste. Good length. Fascinating malt from an obscure producer. A must have for completionists. 56.8% Alc./Vol.
