1997 Chapoutier La Cibose Coteaux-du-Tricastin

A fine example of power and flavour without body weight. Medium weight, brick red crimson colour. Lifted nose of raspberry compote, stewed fruit with a hint of liquorice and spice. On the palate there is plenty of depth and persistence. Strong flavours of ripe plums, raspberry and liquorice are well integrated with fine dry, lingering tannins, followed by a liquorice spice aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years. Exceptional value.
