1997 Chateau Reynella Vintage Port

THIS IS YET ANOTHER OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF VINTAGE PORT FROM CHATEAU REYNELLA. MADE ENTIRELY FROM DRYLAND SHIRAZ, THE WINE HAS A DISTINCTIVE PORTUGUESE TWIST TO IT, PARTICULARLY WITH ITS DRY FINISH.

TASTING NOTE: Opaque brick red colour. The wine is heavily crusted already and a decant will be required, that is unless you like chewing the sediment. Superb nose of blackberry, liquorice and marzipan over a raisin like end note. The flavour profile is a delight, with layers of liquorice, spice and blackberry overlaid by fine brandy spirit. Perfectly balanced with fine tannin structure, finishing on the dry side. Very long aftertaste of liquorice and blackberry with warm spirit lingering.
