1997 Glenmorangie Grand Vintage 23 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Glenmorangie collectors will be pleased to find the Grand Vintage Malt 1997 available, however, it should be noted that Australian allocations were low. For this installment of the Bond House No.1 series, the liquid was aged in bourbon casks for almost a decade before a portion was transferred into a handful of Château Montrose red wine casks from the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, adding what's described as “extraordinary berried depths.” According to Glenmorangie's Head of Whisky Creation, Bill Lumsden, the assemblage was further influenced by whiskies “long finished in Oloroso sherry casks [that] gave sweet layers and spice as well as some secret casks [that] also played their part.” All of the whiskies in the composition are 23+ years old.
