1997 Paringa Estate Shiraz

Opaque crimson purple colour. Cool climate Shiraz in a great year produces an exceptional wine. Superb nose of blackcurrant, blackberries, blackpeppers and spice with a hint of earthiness, very reminiscent of great Rhone Hermitage. The new and one year old troncais oak are superbly integrated. The palate flavours are quite wonderful. Intense, full bodied concentrated flavours of liquorice, ripe blackcurrant, spice and cedar. Perfect balance with long liquorice, blackcurrant and blackpepper aftertaste. A magnificent red. Cellar up to 10 years.
