1998 d'Arenberg The Peppermint Paddock Chambourcin

The colour of this wine is spectacular. Magnificent opaque purple mauve colour. The nose is subtle with aromas of spice, cherry, raspberries, mixed berries and just a trace of leather at the very end. On the palate there are restrained flavours of liquorice, stewed fruit, plum and spice. Fine firmish tannins, followed by a raspberry, cherry, spice and liquorice aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years and allow the tertiary flavours to blossom.
