1998 Reschke Empyrean Cabernet Sauvignon

An extraordinary wine.
Opaque black deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. The nose is all that one can hope for in Cabernet, with its superb lifted blackcurrant top note, followed by violets, cedar, spice, cigar box and truffle. Wonderful palate flavours, with excellent concentration of flavour. Mocca, spice, blackcurrant and cedar flavours fill the mouth. Exceptionally long aftertaste, with fine grained tannins, followed by overlays of dark chocolate, plum, cedar and liquorice.
