1998 Rosemount Estate Show Reserve Chardonnay

Rosemount have produced a succession of top Chardonnays and this wine follows their very successful formula. This wine has already been awarded top prize at the 1998 Australian Liquor Industry Awards. Brilliant straw colour. Superb nose, explosive with the aroma of butterscotch, spice, biscuit and melon. The palate is mouthfilling and displays impressive weight and depth, yet without the great complexity that the nose suggests. Flavours of butterscotch, melon, biscuit and toasted oak with a hint of aniseed on the end palate. The acidity of the wine is holding up for the short term, clean finish, followed by butterscotch, yeast lees and melon aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
