The Kumeu River vineyard was planted to Pinot Noir in 1993, and the 1999 wine, represents its third vintage. Light, bright, brick red colour, with distinct sienna brown overtones. Aroma of stewed fruits, spice and game, good palate weight, followed by cherry and stewed fruit flavours. Fine grained tannins, good balance, with long cherry, stalky, spice aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
