Yet another new label to appear on the Australian wine market – this comes with an explanation of it’s name. The place Piano Gully, was named due to a transport accident. It appears, an early resident, of the district – a Mr. Charles Young, ordered a Piano from England, to be shipped to Fremantle Western Australia. From there it was loaded on truck and transported to Bridgetown, after which it was put on a hose and carriage and carted to its final destination of Middlesex, where it fell off the back of the carriage. This is how the place and winery got it’s name.
Bright pale straw colour. Aromas of tropical fruit, spice and baked apple. The palate flavours are dilute with pineapple, melon and tropical fruit prominent. Soft acid finish, followed by pineapple, tropical fruit aftertaste. Cellar 1-2 years.
