1999 Rothbury Estate Chardonnay

Rothbury continues to produce excellent value for money Chardonnay, of a quality to rival Lindemans Bin 65. Brilliant deep straw colour. An impressive nose with aromas of yeast lees, nut, melon and fig over a spicy background – the sort of quality sniff that one would expect from a more expensive wine. The palate displays good weight with flavours of cinnamon and spice over a tropical fruits background. Soft acid finish, followed by lingering aftertaste of spice, cinnamon and melon.
