2000 Henschke Mount Edelstone Shiraz

A Classic example of Mount Edelstone, produced from 80 year old ungrafted vines and matured for 21 months in French and American oak hogsheads. Deep crimson colour with mauve hue. Medium body. Aroma of cedar and violets followed by subtle notes of earth – a delightful refined sniff. On the palate, flavours of earth, plum and spice emerge, with the earthiness remaining dominant. Excellent length, with very fine tannins followed by a long spicy earth plum aftertaste.
