2001 Allinda Cabernets

A classic Yarra Valley Cabernet, made from a blend of 70% Cabernet, 19% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Perfumed nose of violets, spice, blackcurrant and cherry, showing excellent Cabernet fruit notes without any vegetal character. The palate is refined, showing cool climate elegance, with plenty of depth of flavour. Flavours of spicy white pepper are counterpointed with hints of truffle and earth over a blackcurrant background. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance, followed by a long aftertaste of blackcurrant and spice.
