2001 Coriole Mary Kathleen Reserve Cabernet Merlot

This wine is blended from the best Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot fruit of the vintage. Fermentation occurs in open tanks with hand plunging. After several rackings the wine is matured for approximately 12 months in French oak hogsheads and barriques with about 35% new oak.

A delightful Coriole Mary Kathleen with deep crimson hue. Aroma of violets, cedar, blackcurrants and spice. A refined sniff. The palate reveals flavours of blackcurrant, liquorice all sorts, spice and plum pudding. Perfect balance, with fine grained tannins, followed by a very long aftertaste of confectionary, liquorice all sorts, blackcurrant, cedar and lingering spice.
