2001 O'Leary Walker Shiraz

David O’Leary and Nick Walker have an impressive track record, amassing over 300 gold medals and 60 trophies to date (including a Jimmy Watson Trophy and twice International Red Wine Maker of the Year). After working for large companies for over twenty years, the pair have recently established their own venture in the Clare Valley with excellent results.

Tasting Note:This is a big, generous red. Totally opaque, black purple colour. Very aromatic nose, with wonderful lifted aroma of violets, plum and spice. The palate is mouthfilling with explosive flavours of blackpepper, vanilla, ripe plum and liquorice. Outstanding length and depth, reflective of the exceptional quality of the 2001 vintage. Perfect balance, followed by a very long aftertaste of blackpepper and liquorice.
