$443.88 Dozen
Closure: Cork

This wine made its initial debut onto the Australian market in the early 1980’s and was a monumental style of Chardonnay – the sort of white wine a dedicated red wine drinker would want to indulge in. Over the years the style has changed, or as the Rosemount winemaking team would put it, became ‘internationalised’. That is subtext for ‘altered to suit the ever shifting market tastes’. These days the sense of terroir that was so evident in the early wines has disappeared. A much more refined wine has resulted, however it is a Roxburgh style that is unrecognisable.

Bright straw colour. Lifted nose showing more complexity that either of the other two Chardonnays in the Rosemount lineup. Aroma of spice, melon and fig over a hint of butterscotch and yeast lees. The palate remains quite concentrated with citrus fig flavours emerging over a creamy lees background. Clean acid finish with long aftertaste of butterscotch and lees. The wine has been fermented in wild yeast, which has contributed to an additional flavour layer.
