2001 Wirra Wirra Chardonnay

Bright straw colour. The nose displays a distinct butterscotch top note which after an initial entry, completely disappears from the wine. Barrel ferment aroma is followed by notes of toast and hazelnut. On the palate, flavours of cashew, yeast lees, flor and almonds. Moderate length with melon and fig on the back palate. Clean acid finish followed by an aftertaste of yeast lees, biscuit and cashew.
Cellar 1-2 years. (2003-2004)
