Bright crimson colour with crimson hue. Medium body. Top note of spice, followed by stewed fruit and a hint of toasted oak. On the palate, flavours of plum and stewed fruit, followed by black pepper end palate. Fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of plum and stewed fruit, with strong spicy quality persisting. Second tasting, February 2006:
Deep crimson colour with crimson hue. Aroma of spice, black pepper and plum followed by a hint of chocolate, liquorice, leather and earth. The palate is drier than expected, with flavours of stewed fruit and earth followed by leather on the back palate. Soft tannins. Aftertaste of stewed fruit, leather and spice.
