2002 Rosemount Estate Traditional Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Petit Verdot
Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. The nose displays excellent ripe fruit characteristics with notes of blackcurrant, spice and cedar emerging, followed by violet and mulberry endnotes. The palate has good weight and again displays ripe fruit – flavours of liquorice allsorts and blackcurrant followed by a hint of chocolate and spice. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance. Very long aftertaste of spice, blackcurrant and cedar.
Cellar 3-4 years (2008-2009)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%
First tasted, September 2004:
Totally saturated black crimson purple colour. Classic Bordeaux sniff, with aroma of ripe blackcurrant, followed by violets, cassis and cedar. The palate again is dominated by the Cabernet grape – flavours of blackcurrant, liquorice and cedar are evident, however, the palate is a touch short. Fine dry tannins, which persist onto the aftertaste. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, cassis and mocha.
