2002 Warrabilla Limited Release Parola's Durif
This wine is holding up very well. Totally opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue – still looking very youthful. Excellent cling.
Top note of morello cherry, followed by cedar, vanilla and spice with a fresh liquorice end note. The palate has retained its vitality, mouthfilling with vibrant flavours of blackberry and black cherry followed by strong flavours of vanilla, plum and spice. Velvet tannins.
Aftertaste of confectionary, spice and black pepper.
Cellar 3-4 years (2011-2012)
Alc/Vol: 17.5%
Other Reviews...
Impenetrable purple; chocolate, licorice and black morello cherry aromas precede a wine which is chewed, rather than drunk. 17.5 degrees alcohol is absolutely astonishing; keep it for 20 years and then serve it with
an ox cooked over an open pit.
