This vineyard is located at Pisa which is a sub region of the Cromwell Basin. Warwick Hawker (a former diplomat) and his wife Jenny purchased the original 12 hectare block on Pisa Flats in 1995. Planting began the same year under the guidance of the late Mike Wolter who was a pioneer of the district. Very deep black crimson colour and deep crimson hue. Superb lifted nose of violet, blackberry and spice followed by a spicy oak end note. The palate has plenty of weight and is supported by flavours of spicy oak, cherry and plums. Velvet smooth tannins. Long aftertaste of spicy oak, cherry and plums.
Cellar 4-5 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%
