Matured in new French oak. Impenetrable inky black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Heady ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice scents meld into earthy vanillin oak, hints of mocha and spicy leather. Even bigger and richer than the 2005 Springflat Pressings, this monstrous Shiraz boasts a liqueur like flavour profile of blackberry, liquorice and black plum that’s underscored by vanillin oak, earth, leather and spice. Velvety tannins complement the wines voluptuous texture. Magnificent power and concentration with a long blackberry liqueur, liquorice, black plum, toasty vanillin oak, earthy leather and spice aftertaste.

Other Reviews….
The 2004 Shiraz Reserve was aged in 100% new French oak hogsheads for 20 months. The alcohol is a mere 15.5%, but the wine is gorgeously pure revealing a quintessential black raspberry and creme de cassis purity and richness that must be smelled, tasted, and evaluated to be believed. Huge extract, massive tannin, and a stunningly long, 45 second plus finish suggest this monstrous, but impeccably well-balanced Shiraz will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age, and last for 15 or more. Drink 2010-2021.
