2005 Hesketh The Protagonist Shiraz
Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue, showing good cling to the glass. Top note of vanilla, followed by perfumed liquorice, spice and blackberry, showing good varietal character. The palate is generous with liquorice and blackberry flavours, the fruit is beginning to tighten up. There is a hint of cedar emerging on the back palate. Slightly coarse tannins.

Almost opaque black purple colour with purple hue. Top note of violets, followed by liquorice allsorts, spice and a touch of new leather. On the palate flavours of plum, light leather and stewed fruit. Fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of earth, leather and plum.
