2005 Lindemans Reserve Cabernet Merlot

Very deep crimson mauve colour with mauve hue. Top note of dark chocolate, followed by blackcurrant and spice with violet end note, showing good varietal lift. The palate structure is tight, with flavours of liquorice and blackcurrant evident, but quite short. Fine dry tannins, which are persistent and override the fruit. Aftertaste of dark chocolate and liquorice.
