100% Sherried Glenlossie... This should go fast!
Strictly limited to one bottle per customer.

With no official bottlings available, this east Speyside distillery remains the realm of independents. Besides the well known Flora & Fauna edition, Gordon & MacPhail, Douglas Laing and Signatory Vintage have offered some well-aged expressions, however most of the output continues to be reserved for Diageo's super blends. The house style is typically fruity, with bourbon casks the norm, so kudos to Carn Mor for offering something truly different here. In fact, it's unlike any other Glenlossie we’ve encountered before. Readers should also note UK retailers have quickly sold out. Miserly Australian allocations mean many will be left disappointed.

Tasting note: Drawn from just two sherry casks (one suspects a combination of PX and Oloroso), like most sherried whiskies, extended breathing is a must: Sampled over ten minutes, the aromas build with dried fruits and peel-heavy marmalade, hints of cigar box, cinnamon and ginger. Uncut, it’s juicy and malty with plums, raisin cake and an attractive nuttiness providing good Oloroso character to the finish. Along with balancing spiciness and astringency, the final stages find dark chocolate and sticky date, leaving a PX feel through the aftertaste. In short, if you like the richness and intensity of flavour that sherried styles deliver, this is solid buying, and the higher ABV is a bonus. 47.5% Alc./Vol. 718 bottles

Notes from the bottlers... "a luscious whisky with an oily texture reminiscent of dark rum with butter and sticky date pudding".
