2007 Penny's Hill Specialized Shiraz Cabernet Merlot

Bright crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Medium body. This is a refined blend made by Ben Riggs and delivers plenty of varietal flavour but without some of that distinctive ‘joosy’ quality which some wine lovers will prefer. The elegance is partly due to the blend and is in part due to the season. Top note of spice, liquorice, black cherry and blackcurrant. The palate is elegant, with flavours of light liquorice allsorts, over blackcurrant and spice. Fine cedar oak over a spicy back palate. Very fine tannins. Long spicy black pepper aftertaste.
