2007 Poggio al Tesoro Sondraia

A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Totally opaque black dark red colour with deep very dark red hue. The nose shows good aromatic lift with perfumed scents of ripe blackcurrant and black cherry followed by some cedar, earth, dried meats and spice. Full bodied the palate boasts rich expressive ripe blackcurrant flavours followed by some black cherry, cedar, earthy dried meats and spice. Excellent concentration and depth with solidly built, slightly dryish but very well integrated tannins. Very long ripe blackcurrant, black cherry, cedar, scorched earth and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
