2008 Hollick Sparkling Merlot

This sparkling red pours with a crimson mauve mousse and displays a deep crimson red base colour. Very fine bead but lacking some persistence. The nose displays lifted ripe plum notes followed by some dark chocolate, a touch of liquorice and spice. The palate displays good weight and richness with flavours of dark plum followed by some dark chocolate and a hint of earthy spice on the back palate. Aftertaste of ripe plum, chocolate and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2010-2013).
