2008 Knight Granite Hills Shiraz

Matured in a combination of French and American oak barrels for 3 years the wine displays an opaque black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Nosing reveals pronounced aromas of aniseed and blackberries intermixed with some dark chocolate overlaid by vanillin oak with spice end notes. Generously styled and rich the palate features mouthfilling liquorice, dark chocolate, blackberry and vanillin oak flavours with some spice on the back palate all wrapped up in a supple plush texture. Velvet smooth perfectly integrated tannins. Long aftertaste of liquorice, dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice.
Excellent drinking over the next 2-3 years.
