2008 Yalumba The Cigar Cabernet Sauvignon

A well made Coonawarra Cabernet but not quite up to the lofty standards set by the inaugural 2006 release. The wine was matured for 16 Months in a combination of new French Oak Hogheads (14%) and one year old French & Hungarian Oak Hogheads (8%) with the balance in older French oak Hogsheads & Barriques and American oak Hogsheads.

Outstanding opaque dark red black colour with deep crimson red hue. Aromas of blackcurrant, violets and dark chocolate followed by some cedar and a touch of mint. Fine grained slightly dry but balanced tannins with long aftertaste of blackcurrant, mint and spice.
