2009 Benriach Single Cask No.4834 Peated Port 12 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Selected by Master Blender, Rachel Barrie on behalf of the French retailer, La Maison du Whisky, the Cask Edition Series features diverse, single barrel expressions of Benriach bottled at natural strength. In this case, it's from Port Pipe number 4834 (there are several sister casks with slightly different numbers). Filled with peated spirit and decanted in 2021, 766 bottles were on offer globally and most appear to have sold out in Europe. Fans of discontinued Benriachs like 'Solstice' should find similar thrills here. A sister cask (same vintage, slightly higher ABV) was recently awarded 'Editor's Choice' at Whisky Magazine and rated 8.7 / 10. Expect lots of red plum, smoke and ash. 59.8% Alc./Vol.

Notes from the bottlers... Nose – Elegant smoke interwoven with red cherry and berry fruits, dusted with cocoa and ground coffee. Palate – Black cherry and date oil with velvety espresso and dark chocolate ganache.
