Dalgety is a new line of whiskies from award winning independent bottler, Lady of the Glen that pays tribute to the home of Hannah Whisky Merchants. Director, Gregor Hannah and Brand Ambassador, Paul McKendrick hand select barrels for every small batch release, so these are multi-cask arrangements as opposed to the single casks offered under the Lady of the Glen label. This example was drawn from a refill barrel and a virgin oak barrel; Initially, drying oak pushes the malty aromas to one side before walnuts and wet wood enter the picture; The aromas get increasingly malty, then there's an appealing cooked fruit character to the entry that expands with threads of honey, oat biscuits and lively wood spices.
