Made using traditional Burgundian techniques of small batch fermentation, hand plunging and maturation in a mixture of 225 litre French oak barriques(40% of the blend). Following six months of maturation a selection of the best batches were blended to produce this wine.
Translucent dark crimson red colour with light brick red hue. Lifted ripe cherry and strawberry aromas dominate the nose with some underlying anise and spice also present. Light to medium weight the palate is generously flavoured with ripe dark cherry and strawberries overlaying some toasty oak and spicy anise. Good power with velvet smooth tannins and a soft supple mouthfeel. Long ripe dark cherry, strawberry and spicy anise aftertaste. Drink over the next 2-3 years (2013-2016)Alc 13.5%
