Bowen Estate is owned and run by Doug Bowen and his family. The Estate consists of 33 hectares of vines planted on the prized Coonawarra Terra Rosa soils. Established in 1972, the first vintage in 1975 was greeted with considerable enthusiasm.

Bowen Estate’s run of hot form continues with the release of their 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon – another cracking, rich, bold expression of Coonawarra Cabernet.

Maturation took place in a combination of French and Russian oak barriques for approximately 22 months. Totally opaque black dark purple colour with deep dark purple red hue. The nose exhibits lifted scents of cassis and liquorice followed by some cedar, a hint of earthy tobacco and spice. Full bodied and possessing classical Bowen Estate richness the palate is filled with generous flavours of ripe blackcurrant, liquorice and dark chocolate followed by some underlying toasty cedar and spice. Very fine grained tannins. Excellent depth with long ripe blackcurrant, chocolate bullet and toasty spice aftertaste.
